Master Fractions with “Pie” Models

Using the idea of a pie is a great way to familiarize students with fractional parts of a whole.

• How to Use: Click and drag colored pieces onto the circles. Remove pieces by dragging them out. Different colors make it easy to compare sizes.
• Classroom Idea: Show students a mixed or improper fraction and ask them to model it using the circles to explore common denominators.
