This hybrid tool uses 5-red/5-white bead patterns on a line to help students subitize as they navigate larger numbers.

  • How to Use: Slide the beads along the line. The color grouping helps students instantly recognize groups of 5 and 10 without counting every bead.
  • Classroom Idea: Model “Rounding” by showing which “ten” (group of beads) a specific number is physically closer to.
