Virtual Manipulatives in the Classroom
Virtual manipulatives are designed for real classrooms and the devices you already use.
Teachers use them on Smartboards to model ideas for the whole class. Students watch, discuss what they see, and explain their thinking.
In small groups or math centers, students use Chromebooks or iPads to explore together. They build models, adjust them, and talk through their ideas.
They also work well for independent practice. Nothing needs to be passed out or collected, and the workspace can be reset instantly.
